The NVQ Level 2 Boom-type Mobile Elevating Work Platforms certification is mandatory for candidates who want to work within the construction field operations as Boom mobile platform operators. The certification course is designed to test the candidate for his skills with handling boom-mobile platforms at the work site.

A qualified MEWP boom type platform operator will always be in demand within the construction industry. The CPCS course offers the right candidate with all skills and knowledge required for handling and performing different types of tasks that have to be performed at heights.

What is This?

The NVQ CPCS certification is authorized by the industry leaders and CITB authorities. The course has been designed keeping in mind the present time requirements of the boom operators’ skills.

The course will prove helpful for the candidates to get familiar with the in-classroom knowledge and practical training sessions. This knowledge is required by the candidate to display his level of skills when being tested for enrollment for any job position for the relevant position.

The course is mandatory as per the regulations stated by CITB and CPCS authorities to ensure that hired candidates qualify for the job position at the work site.

Why it is required?

The course will provide in-depth knowledge for the candidate to appear for mandatory and optional categories. The course will also help the candidate get familiar with all the work practices that he is expected to follow at the workplace when operating Boom type MEWPs.

Apart from this, the course will also offer the candidate with the right level of training needed to pass out the touch screen test and Health and safety test conducted by CPCS authorities.

The candidate is expected to score minimum passing credit points from both mandatory and optional units as per his area of expertise.

Criteria

In order to be qualified for getting enrolled, the candidate is expected to provide evidence related to his level of skills and lesson knowledge. To join at the entry level, the candidate is expected to provide with details related to his academic education with passing scores.

If the candidate is already experienced and wants to upgrade from Red CPCS card to Blue CPCS Card, then he will have to provide with evidence regarding his Touch screen health and safety test and past work experience in the relevant job position.

From the mandatory units the candidate must score 5 credit points from two sections – Productive work practices and Health and safety welfare with 3 and 2 credit points from Level 2 and level 1.

From the optional unit, he is expected to score 12 credit points from any 1 unit with operating scissor type MEWPs, operating climber mast or operating Boom type MEWPs. Each one will offer him 12 credit points.
