How to apply for your CSCS Card once your test is completed:
Congratulations! Now you have passed your CSCS test, you are now entitled to apply for your CSCS card. This card will serve to act as proof that you have been officially trained in your respective trade and that you have a solid understanding of health and safety in the workplace. Having a CSCS card is increasingly becoming a mandatory requirement for all on-site workers and owning one allows the card holder potential access to all construction sites.
A CSCS card costs depends on company to companyand once you have it, it is valid as per the card and trade. You have a 12 month window in which to renew your CSCS card – from 6 months before expiry until 6 months after expiry. It is extremely important that you renew your card during this window to ensure continuity of work. Once your card has expired, you will need to re-sit the CITB Health Safety & Environmental test as new standards may have been introduced since your CSCS card was issued.
