How long have you worked with CHL?
I’ve worked at Construction Helpline for 6 months.
What is your main role at CHL?
I am the Head of Marketing for Construction Helpline and sister companies.
As Marketing Manager, what aspect of your job do you enjoy the most?
The variation of the role. Many marketers specialise in certain aspects of marketing such as digital marketing, graphic design, affiliate marketing however, with my role, I get to put my fingers into all those pies, daily. The most enjoyable element for me is the business development side of marketing. I have been heavily involved in events and networking over my 14 years of experience and have organised over 400 events from conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and seminars. Meeting people and interacting is a very good (and tactical) way of exploring various business interests and partnerships.
How have you seen the company grow in recent months?
The company has gone through unprecedented changes over the six months I have been at CHL. The marketing department especially has grown along with the company. We have the capacity and expertise to grow business interests with other industry leaders and that exploration has seen us develop into one of the UK’s top training organisations.
What do you like about working at CHL?
The independence to explore ideas and new projects. The CEO is extremely open-minded which allows us to broaden horizons within the company and try new things. There is very much an open-door policy and being a close-knit unit, we all have the freedom to discuss new ideas with each other. When I was working in corporate settings, each department was very much kept within its remits and groups. At CHL, all departments have input into each other’s projects, and this allows us to brainstorm efficiently.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself?
I have dabbled in the entertainment sector. I was substituting lead singer of an (at the time) well-known UK band and we toured Europe back in 2006-2007. We performed with the likes of Maroon 5, Amy Winehouse, and Paolo Nutini.
I am also a professional Greek dancer and have a dance group who have danced all over the world, including events in the presence of The Royal Family.
