Course overview:
The Level 1 Certificate in Building Crafts Occupations qualification has been developed for delivery in a training environment; this means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can work in Building Crafts in the construction industry or progress to further NVQ training. This NVQ qualification requests the learner to demonstrate, in a real workplace environment, that you are competent against a set of performance statements. You are assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you through your programme of learning.
Course Content:
The learner will cover knowledge in three core subject areas:
– Health, safety and welfare
– Information, quantities and communication
– Construction technology.
The learner will cover knowledge in three core subject areas:
– Handle and store construction materials and components
– Fix construction components
– Mix construction materials
– Cut, lay and fix construction components
– Apply finishing materials
– Set out for construction components.
Entry Requirements:
The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16+; there are no further entry requirements to take this qualification. This means that you can undertake this qualification without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.
Duration:
3-6 months. Whilst you are working on site you will be visited by your assessor who will guide you through each part of the process, observe you working and provide the highest levels of support until you complete your qualification.
