Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying (Construction)
Description :
This qualification has been developed for delivery in a training environment; this means that you do not need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding so you can progress to further training at level 2, please see the Progression area below for further information on progression routes. The Level 1 Award in Bricklaying may be appropriate for a Learner if you are new to the area and wish to undertake a short vocational taster or you have been out of learning for some time and wish to enter the construction industry.
The Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying is aimed at learners who are able to commit to a more substantial qualification and wish to use this to prepare for, and progress to, the next level of learning ultimately leading to entering a job role in that area
Course Content :
If you undertake this Level 1 Diploma in Bricklaying you will cover knowledge in three core subject areas:
– Health, safety and welfare
– Technical information, quantities and communication
– Knowledge of construction technology
You will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in:
– Construct cavity walling
– Construct block walling
– Mix construction materials
– Setting out for basic masonry structures
– Construct brick walling
Eligibility :
The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16+; there are no further entry requirements to take this qualification. This means that you can undertake this qualification without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.
Duration :
3-6 months. Whilst you are working on site you will be visited by your assessor who will guide you through each part of the process, observe you working and provide the highest levels of support until you complete your qualification.
