Free Government Funded Training in Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire Council - Adult Learning

Working alongside Buckinghamshire council and under the ‘Buckinghamshire Adult Learning’ programme, we are providing funded training within construction trades to inspire people to achieve their potential and take the next step in their career. The trades include Level 2 in Fitted Interiors, Level 2 in Carpentry and Level 3 in Site Supervision. By upskilling and reskilling professionals, we hope to combat the skills gap within the industry and further redefine what it means to learn in construction.

This funded training is tailored for self-employed contractors who currently work in people’s homes, looking to get qualified so they can move into the commercial sector or just flex their work between commercial and domestic sector.

This pathway allows you more flexibility to train during evenings (The timetable for this training is Mon - Thurs evening sessions, from 17:30 - 20:30) and is delivered remotely, allowing you to login via video conferencing software like zoom or Microsoft teams to a live tutor from the comfort of your own home!

To qualify for the level 2 Fitted Interiors training, learners are required to:
  • Live within the Buckinghamshire region and be 19+ years old
  • To be eligible, you must be currently fitting kitchens/bathrooms or have recent experience as an interior fitter; no plumbing experience is required.

This funded training is created for individuals working as a self-employed handyman / carpenter working on projects or in people’s home.

Please note this is also open to those that are already working as self-employed Carpenters but hold no official level 2 qualification.
