Free Government Funded Skills Bootcamps in Liverpool

Who is LCRCA?

LCRCA (Liverpool City Region Combined Authority) is a strategic authority that works to make change within transport, employment, culture and housing within the Liverpool City Region. Working closely with local authorities, one of the main benefits of LCRCA is creating jobs and apprenticeships for people, which through our Skills Bootcamps, we hope to further upskill and reskill construction professionals.

This Skills Bootcamp has been created for individuals who are construction trades team leaders, assistant supervisors, supervisors on SSSTS certification seeking to upskill onto a Level 3 NVQ supervision qualification and gain a Gold CSCS Supervisory card.

This pathway allows you more flexibility to train during evenings and weekends (The timetable for this bootcamp is Mon – Thurs evenings 17.30 – 20.30 and Saturdays (9:00 – 17:00) across 8 weeks) and the knowledge / theory part of the bootcamps will be delivered remotely allowing you to login via video conferencing software like zoom or Microsoft teams to a live tutor from the comfort of your own home!

What is included in this training?
  • Level 1 H&S in a construction environment course prep and assessment (including re-sit)
  • CITB Test
  • CSCS Card x 2 prior to completion of NVQ and on completion of NVQ Level 3
  • Registration onto a NOCN NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Work Supervision
To qualify for the level 3 Supervision Bootcamp, learners are required to:
  • Live within the Liverpool region and be 19+ years old
  • Have experience in the construction either up to a level 2 trade qualification or with equivalent experience and with extra responsibilities such as acting as a team leader, supporting a qualified supervisor or a site manager or currently holding an SSSTS certificate and are looking to qualify for a Gold CSCS Supervisors card

This Skills Bootcamp has been designed for construction professionals who are currently working as either construction managers, site managers on SMSTS certification and Gold CSCS card supervisors looking to progress onto a level 6 NVQ qualification.

This pathway also allows flexibility to train during evenings and weekends (The timetable for this bootcamp is Mon – Thurs evenings 17.30 – 20.30 and Saturdays (9:00 – 17:00) across 8 weeks) and the knowledge / theory part of the bootcamps will be delivered remotely allowing you to login via video conferencing software like zoom or Microsoft teams to a live tutor from the comfort of your own home!

  • Registration onto a NOCN NVQ Level 6 in Construction Contracting Operations Management
To qualify for the level 6 Construction Project Management Bootcamp, learners are required to:
  • Live in the Liverpool region and be 19+ years old
  • Have experience in the construction as either a construction projects manager, a level 3 supervisor or technical qualification, via SMSTS certificate or with equivalent experience and would like to qualify for a Black CSCS Mangers Card

We encourage applications from underrepresented groups within construction for example those from the BAME community and women, of which there is still a very low percentage when compared with other industries.

  • Based in the Liverpool area that has vacancies for trades within this specific region
  • Are happy to offer a 2 week work trial on completion of the training
  • Can provide an interview at the end of the work trial for a term of no less than 12 weeks

FAQs for Liverpool Skills Bootcamps

Although these Bootcamps are held in the Liverpool City Region, if you live in surrounding regions such as Warrington, Wigan and Chester and can commute to Liverpool, you may be eligible.
You will start your NVQ as close to midway through the Skills Bootcamp as soon as possible (dependent on the pace of the group).
Our start dates vary dependent on location and trade, once you have passed eligibility from our team, you will be informed on the next Bootcamp start date.
Other than our Bootcamps being free for all learners, they teach you how to interpret academically written knowledge questions to maximise your chances of passing your NVQ in as short a time frame as possible, while developing your analytical skills.
