Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Helpline is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions.

Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2019

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

Historic baseline deviates from the requirements under PPN 06/21 as follows:

  • • Categories 1, 3 and 8 areincluded

  • • Categories 7 and 9 have no emissions associated with them

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero by 2030, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 0.481 tCO2e by 2025. This is a reduction of 85%.

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2019 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 1.85 tCO2e, a 38% reduction against the 2019 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

• We are a member of the Go Climate Positive certification and carbon management programme.

• We have switched our electricity to a green energy supplier(E.ON)

• We have moved 90% of our client meetingson-line.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

• Improve building insulation and replace gas boilers with renewable heatsources.

• Move all online services to suppliers powered by renewable energy.
